Two Ways to Hunt: Team Deathmatch and Elimination
The overhaul launches with two modes. Both pit Slayers against Vampires, and in both a vampire only stays down when a Slayer drives a stake through its heart.
Team Deathmatch
Nonstop action. Respawns are on, there are no rounds, and the first team to the score limit wins, or the best score when time runs out. The host sets both: 25 points and 15 minutes by default.
Halfway through, the teams swap sides. The same players stay together, the score carries over, and every Slayer becomes a Vampire and the other way round. To score as a Slayer you have to stake: dropping a vampire isn't enough.
Elimination
Round-based, in the spirit of Counter-Strike and Rainbow Six. Every round starts with a short pick phase: choose your character and perks, then lock in. Once the round goes live there are no respawns. Wipe out the other side to take the round.
- Matches from 1v1 up to 5v5, first to 4 rounds by default
- Sides swap at the half, and a tie at the end goes to overtime
- Run out the clock and the side with more players standing wins
Dead players spectate their living teammates, and the host can fill empty slots with bots.
Maps
Both modes play on Subway, Cemetery, The Lair, Castle, Club and Blood Avenue, and The Farm is on its way. After every match, the lobby votes on the next map.
